Description
With efforts focused on “being green,” KEW is planning a $2 million exterior renovation to this neighborhood shopping center! We are focusing our efforts on making quality green renovations, improvements in appearance, performance, functionality and efficiency of the shopping center. This extensive transformation will include a facade remodel featuring new stucco, paint colors, stone work and architectural elements, new xeriscape landscaping, new monument signage, an inviting pedestrian entrance, new roof, a solar panel system and more.
The first phase of the renovation started last winter with the installation of new roofs on the buildings. Soon after we started the installation of a 101 kilowatt photovoltaic (solar panel) system. The power created by this 426 panel PV system will generate approximately 140,000 kilowatt hours of clean electrical energy each year—enough power to offset 95-100% of the energy consumed by the property’s exterior lighting requirements and other common electric needs, a savings which will be passed down to our tenants. The installation of this photovoltaic array is almost complete.
